For my performance of this song, I was honored to win the Grand Prize at the Hawaii Music Festival. The song itself—written by composer Manny Cabral with an arrangement by Willie Barton—also won awards for Best Song Composition and Best Arrangement.

It then went on to win two international prizes at the legendary Budokan in Tokyo at the Tokyo Music Festival: the TBS Award and the Amity Award. This live recording is from that incredible time.
