The Story Behind "Christmas In Our Hearts" (Arriving Nov 4)
A Dream for the Holidays (Arrives Tomorrow!)
I've had two major items on my personal bucket list for a long time: completing a career commemorative music project and recording an original Christmas song. Miraculously, thanks to an amazing collaboration, both dreams came true in 2025.
Following the successful release of the My Continuum EP, my friend and producer Lance Jyo suggested we keep the positive momentum going. The second dream on my list, an original Christmas song, is set to arrive tomorrow, November 4th.
It's a special song, and I wanted to share the beautiful story behind it—written by Lance himself—the day before it's released to the world.

After the success of Kevin’s Continuum project, I really felt that we had built something special and wanted to keep that positive momentum going. Given the timing, I thought it would be wonderful to follow up with something heartfelt for the holidays, a Christmas song that could serve as both a surprise and a gift to our family, friends, and Kevin’s supporters who have been with him throughout this entire journey.
I asked Kevin if he’d be interested in doing a Christmas song, and he was immediately open to the idea. Over the years, I’ve written a number of Christmas songs, as Christmas has always been one of my favorite times of the year. We went through several of them together. Out of all the songs I had written (this one co-written with Galen Takushi), Kevin felt the strongest connection to “Christmas in Our Hearts.” I did, too. The song’s message of love, peace, and hope really resonated with both of us, especially given everything happening in the world today.
We both felt that this was the right time to revisit and create a new arrangement of “Christmas in Our Hearts.” With Kevin’s voice and artistry, we knew we could bring something heartfelt and fresh to the song while staying true to its timeless spirit.
Kevin suggested inviting his longtime friend Rachel Gonzales to join the recording and add a female vocal, and the chemistry among the three artists speaks for itself and brought the track to life. The finished recording features Kevin I., Rachel Gonzales, and myself in rich three-part harmony throughout — a heartfelt celebration of collaboration, friendship, and the enduring joy of Christmas.

A Message for the Season
As Lance shared, this song felt special from the moment I heard it. Its message of hope and positivity feels timeless—perfectly suited not just for the holidays, but for the world we live in today. In a time of global uncertainty and division, its uplifting message of unity and compassion feels especially resonant.
Recording an original Christmas song was something I always wanted to do. I am so excited to share it with you tomorrow. I truly hope the heartfelt message of "Christmas In Our Hearts" connects with listeners everywhere—especially local audiences in Hawai‘i—and that it becomes a perennial holiday favorite for years to come.
